The year 2005 is the birth year of the community we now know as Delta Fighter Wing, and is the genesis of our story. DFW was initially established as the Third Air Platoon of DELTA: Counter-Terrorist Unit, which was a large clan which actively partook in organized large-scale operations in Battlefield Vietnam. The Third Air Platoon provided aviation support for DELTA CTU specializing in a wide array of missions to include close air support, attack, assault, reconnaissance and rapid troop transport and deployment. The clan's Gold Team, a special ops team with a grudge against the leadership and an intent to sabotage DELTA CTU, led an insurrection starting early 2005 which eventually led to the collapse of DELTA CTU. As the clan fell into a state of disrepair and ultimately to its demise, the Third Air Platoon seceded from DELTA CTU and founded Delta Fighter Wing as an independent gaming clan on September 28, 2005. Following its establishment of independence, DFW migrated to Halo: Custom Edition where it grew to become one of the most notorious organized clans, undeafeated on Coldsnap between 2005 to 2008.

The Delta Fighter Wing Gaming Community has a long and arduous history in which many of our veteran members have grown from childhood to adulthood. Since our earlier years, we have progressed from a military-oriented gaming clan to a casual multi-platform gaming community. Although DFW is no longer a true fighter wing, it was decided that the legacy name would remain to commemorate our history. DFW has supported, beta tested and historically had involvement in a plethora of games and genres throughout the years, to include: Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2, Haegemonia: Legions of Iron, Unreal Tournament, Halo Custom Edition, the Halo series, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands & Borderlands 2, Freelancer, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Starcraft II, League of Legends, Firefall, Minecraft, EVE Online, Phantasy Star Online 2, Arma 2 & 3, DayZ, Star Conflict, the Call of Duty series, the Mass Effect series, Dead Space 3, Titanfall, Unturned, Elder Scrolls Online, Star Wars Battlefront, Ark Survival Evolved, Grand Theft Auto V, Star Citizen, Overwatch, Destiny 2, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, League of Legends, Grand Theft Auto V, Tom Clancy's The Division, No Man's Sky and many more.

Presently, we are a relaxed gaming community that specializes in different styles of aerial and space combat, but openly welcome applicants from all walks of life with a taste of almost any type of game and genre. Our community currently consists of a PC Division and Console Division. Among our ranks we have a range of hardcore to casual players, drunken to sober. Our current supported games can be viewed on our Discord channel list under each corresponding division.
